Co-founded by Amanda Basson and Stefanie Garises, SYNTERRA is a women-led, purpose-driven consultancy, institutionally credible, global in outlook, and grounded in the markets where change must happen. We operate from Windhoek, Namibia, with active remote engagements in the UK, Nigeria, and New Zealand.

With more than 16 years of combined expertise spanning risk management, sustainable infrastructure, data governance, enterprise architecture, and project delivery, Synterra's founding team is equipped to navigate complex challenges across international markets.
Amanda Basson
Co-Founder & Director, Strategy & CommercialA senior programme and portfolio delivery leader with over eight years directing complex, high-value, regulated infrastructure and real estate transformation across London and Namibia, with direct accountability for a £70M+ portfolio. She holds an MSc in Real Estate (Sustainability) from the University of Reading and is an Associate Member of the Energy Institute, London.
Amanda led end-to-end delivery of a £23M public-sector heat network programme under the UK Public Procurement Act 2023, and directed a £54M mixed-use decarbonisation portfolio, driving an 18% cash flow improvement and 40% reporting efficiency gain. She participated directly in the regulatory consultation for the incoming Heat Network Consumer Protection Regulations.
At SYNTERRA, Amanda sets the strategic and commercial roadmap, bridging vision and fundable implementation across the UK and Namibian markets, anchored in a commitment to eradicating energy poverty across Africa and underserved regions.
Stefanie Garises
Co-Founder & Director, Data & Digital TransformationAn enterprise architecture and data strategy leader with nearly a decade of experience across Big Four consulting (Deloitte, BDO UK) and multinational financial services including FirstRand Group. She is a TOGAF 9 Certified Enterprise Architecture Practitioner, Microsoft Azure Data Engineer Associate, and FRM Part I (GARP) designee, and a Mandela Washington Fellow and WEF Global Shaper.
Stefanie designed global data governance frameworks across 64 jurisdictions, led cloud platform transformations integrating Azure and Microsoft Fabric, and delivered digital operating model redesigns that reduced manual reporting overhead by 40%. She is progressing an MSc in Sustainable Development at the University of Sussex.
At SYNTERRA, Stefanie provides the technology and governance backbone, connecting strategic direction into measurable, defensible outcomes through rigorous data architecture and evidence-led analysis, completing the green-and-digital twin transition that defines the firm's approach.
